Buster Bronco is the official mascot of Boise State University. He is a brown bronco with a large head and an open mouth. He wears a #0 Boise State football jersey for football games a #54 orange basketball jersey for basketball games. The idea to have a Bronco as a mascot originated in 1932 by Boise State Junior College Students. The students felt that a bronco was perfect as the mascot, for riding horses was very common at that point in time.[1]

Accomplishments

Buster Bronco was ranked third on the Sports Illustrated Power Mascot Rankings in 2007.[3] Buster was also a candidate for the Capitol One Mascot of the Year for the 2008-2009 season.[4]
